Friendship Park
Gather and Play
2018
In 2018, we officially opened Friendship Park with a walking and jogging track, celebrating with church members, fellow members of the community, and City Mayor Edna Devries and Borough Manager John Moosey. The park also featured a prayer garden and seating area.
2021
In 2021, we partnered with a team from Friendship Baptist Church in Gresham, South Carolina to install a playset in the field. Prior to this update, a pavilion and picnic tables with benches were installed for church events and for the Palmer community to use.
2025
In June of 2025, we partnered with the same church from South Carolina to install a large swing set. There are multiple swings, including a mommy-and-me and toddler swing, open to the community!
Nestled in the heart of our Palmer community, Friendship Park is an inviting 3-acre field designed for play, recreation, and community gatherings. This smoke-free, pet-free area is open to the public and offers a variety of features to suit everyone’s needs:
-
-
- Walking/Jogging Track
- Prayer garden with seating
- Covered pavilion with seating
- Playground with slides
- Swings (including toddler and mommy-and-me)
-
We host various events in Friendship Park throughout the year, and from seasonal festivities to summer camps, there’s always something happening in the park for the community.
We invite you to experience the fresh air and open area of Friendship Park! Whether you’re looking for an open and clean playground for children or a spot to gather with friends and family, Friendship Park is the perfect destination.
The playset features multiple slides, climbing ladders, a low balance beam, and climbing steps. The ground is wood chips, helping ensure a safe and clean foundation for your children to play on.
The swingset features multiple standard swings, with a toddler swing and a mommy-and-me swing on the end.
The nearby pavilion is covered, and features several picnic tables and benches for your use. It is close to the playset, allowing you to rest at the table while still able to keep an eye on your kids.
